Legacy and Management - A Sustainable Future
The new Facility an Innovative project has secured a future for Europa Gymnastics Club, Nemesis Boxing Club and Europa Weight Lifting Club and is a true sporting legacy for the local community.
The £5.8 million pound project brought together a unique mix of local sports providers, and captured the imagination and support of a range of funders and partners.
The London Borough of Bexley acted as accountable body throughout the development of the project with Barratt Homes gifting the land and additional funding through a Section 106 agreement. External funding and support was also secured from the Olympic Delivery Authority, Sport England, Mayor of London’s Sport Legacy Fund, British Gymnastics, the Amateur Boxing Association of England Limited and Cory Environment Trust in Britain.
The funding provided for the capital build of the facility ie the building. The ongoing operational costs of staffing, utility bills, council tax, equipment costs etc have to be found by the management of the facility on a monthly basis.
